We did the same thing this year as our last trip out and that was to make our first stop in Terrebonne which is outside of Bend and cuts off about 3 hrs of our drive on that second day. Allen was hosting a concert at his amphitheater and his daughter Missy and her two daughters Sophie and Keely were staying at his house from Hawaii so it was a great opportunity to visit with extended family we haven't yet met!
We set up our tent here on this grassy area as we needed some extra "bedrooms" for the weekend. Check out the view of the lake from here!
Good morning... coffee and oatmeal on the deck... it's hard to see but you can see Mt. Hood in the background
… there's a closer view
Meema, Evie and Jo... good morning!
It didn't take long after breakfast before all the kids disappeared and came down to the lake. Fortunately for me since Allen's granddaughters Sophie and Keely were there I had built in baby-sitters! They enjoyed their time with all the kids and helped keep an eye on them. It was also nice b/c the water level of the lake was really low. Not so good for playing in but good for not drowning in ; )
Here's Lydia... a master stand up paddle boarder (is that a correct way of saying this?!)
Amelia, Joshua and Lydia... Josh was a pro kayaker and kept telling everyone "don't worry, if you get stuck I'll get you out!"
Jo played in the water a little but wasn't able to keep up with the older kids so here he is warming up and taking a break
Little Evie got passed around a lot … good smiles with Meema!
Eventually this one laid down long enough he decided to take a little nap...
Oreo cookie break time!
Allen has these little pools set up more for rinsing off feet but we took over with the little kids for our own personal sauna ; )
And this is Eldon... one of Allen's relatives and the hot entertainment for the weekend! He had a blast with Benjamin ; )
I LOVE THIS PICTURE! Haha! Eldon is in his 92 so this is a generational difference of about 91 years … nice shirt off pot bellies getting some fresh air... hahaha!
Water balloon fight!
Poor Benny got hit and didn't want to so big brother Jo is trying to console him
The next day the older kiddos loaded up on the golf cart and took a short drive down the hill to a neighbor's house who has some horses
In the mornings if you're up early enough you'll see some hot air balloons come over his house, across the lake and down into the canyon behind
Dada and Evie on the deck!
Another view of Allen's wraparound amazing deck... it's an invitation for lounging
And concert time!
The girls... and Jo
Allen and his daughter Missy
And we ended our last night there with a fire pit and s'mores
FLASHBACK: 2 years ago... a lot has changed!
