Mt Rushmore: KOA!

The KOA we stayed at was amazing! It is a part of the recreational KOAs which means it basically has everything imaginable and beyond to see and do. It has campsites, cabins and even it's own hotel. This one had a whole fun center with a pool, playground, mini golf, jump pillow, bike rentals, ice cream shop, etc. There was also a little pancake tent with breakfast, a full scale restaurant, coffee and wine bar, little ice cream and grill shack. And they had their own rodeo grounds! We hit the jackpot it felt like!
Even though it's a lot of work to prep and pack I LOVE campground cooking! For some reason certain foods just taste so good when you're camping. Here's my camp kitchen ; )
Dinner is served!
We made s'mores and sat by the campfire every night

One of my other favorite things about camping is the early mornings... now that our kids were a little separated into different tents I was actually able to slip out of ours and read a little from my Bible before anyone came out early. I set out what I need to make myself a little instant coffee the night before so I don't have to rustle around. I love feeling the cool mornings and the progression of the sun rising and warming things up.
Early morning risers... the boys are usually the first ones awake with me
There's our set up from a distance. The big red tent housed me, Adam, Josh and Jo. The little blue and yellow tent housed Lydia and Evie in her pack n play and the smallest yellow tent housed Amelia and Benny. They made and all agreed on the arrangements and everyone slept great!
Good morning Evie!

We packed a bag of games for some campsite entertainment... Benny was "playing" with the mini chess set
and here's the big one
This was at the bottom of the little hill leading up to the campsites... maybe an RV can be in our future?
We LOVE camping!

Amelia's selfies...

Checking out the water slide!!

Nappy nap after some swimming...
Playground
Mini-golf!

Checking out the horse corral

They even have their own rodeo! And we fortunately stayed during one of the nights they were having an event... tickets came with our stay there!
All lined up... they said they didn't have too much seating and recommended bringing lawn chairs... well, we took up a whole row in the front ; )
Eating some kettle corn and watching the festivities!

There was a kids event at the end where all the kids got to run out into the pen, they didn't really know what awaited them but they went out... well, the game was to take one shoe off and a tractor threw their shoes all over the pen and once they blew the whistle all the kids ran into the mud to find their shoe. When they finished they got a little token to use at the gift shop.
We had a few mins. to spare on the last day after check out so we rented the bikes! The kids had so much fun!
Even Evie got to go for a ride!

We finished with a picnic lunch before we hit the road

We will definitely see you again KOA!
