Meema Noreen's Summer Visit!

My mom came to visit towards the end of summer and we got to do some fun things we haven't done with her before!

We finally got to check out the mini golf place by our house. We drive by every week and the kiddos are always asking to go and we just never have!

Lydia would get so excited when the ball would go in the hole... she'd say "yay! yay!"

Jo doing what he does best... just hangin!

Most of us got a hole in one!

And we made a trip to the zoo which is always fun when Meema comes and there are extra hands for special things like carousel rides!

I wonder what this guy is thinking?
Can't they see better out the sides of their eyes instead of straight in front of them? Yikes!
They opened the new Australia exhibit that has been closed for reconstruction for almost a year... here all the kids got to pet a baby wallaby : )

Zoo lunch picnic at our favorite table in the corner next to the carousel!

And we got to visit Seven Falls! Adam and I haven't been there since we've been married. The last time we went the water would be lit up in 7 different colors... we were disappointed to find out they stopped doing that long tradition!!! Why?!?! We have no clue and they didn't have an answer for us. Maybe there will be enough complaints and disappointments that they will bring it back in the future!

A lot has changed in the past 10 years. They remodeled the entrance so you can no longer just drive up. Instead you have to drive to the Broadmoor and take a shuttle bus to the first entrance. Then you can decide to take another bus to the main entrance or you can go on a leisurely hike and enjoy the scenery on the way.
Here we are on the shuttle bus!

We decided to go for the "short" hike for the second part... hehe... it was fun but we will definitely shuttle it up the second way... little legs make for not so short of a hike! But it really was pretty!
We made it in! There are the falls behind us!

We decided to eat at their restaurant there... here the kiddos are checking out the huge fish in the creek
Fishy faces!
It was a nice little set up right next to the creek and behind that green bush are the falls so you could hear them the whole time
Adam did a little hiking with the two oldest kiddos to some of the higher parts of the falls... I opted to stay behind! In my old age I'm getting a little fear of heights!
Here's our view from down below... see them on the crossbridge?

Made it!
It's louder up here!
Their view on the way back down!
Josh's turn!

As usual we had fun Meema! Can't wait till you come back!
