After Joseph was born we got to signing the kiddos up for some activities around town. The church we landed at held an Awana program which I have heard so much about but have never lived anywhere during a time frame to get them involved so we thought no better opportunity than the present! It was great to do something for both Josh and Amelia too! They finished at the beginning of May and got some awards!
Josh on the far right holding his award : ) He did so great with Awana and enjoyed memorizing his bible verses... his favorite one being "God so loved the world!"
Amelia waiting for the ceremony to start
There she is on the far right getting her award! She too loved memorizing verses and was a little shy at first to say her verses out loud to her leaders but with a little encouragement she did it and often completed 2 verses each week!
We are also taking advantage of living so close to the Sky Sox stadium and their family friendly days ($2 tickets on Tuesday!) Here we are for our first game experience!
It was still a little chilly and we left early before a thunderstorm came along but we all had fun!
Jo!
Cotton Candy! I also must interject with a story that we did not have any pictures of to tell... I was standing up in the walkway between the upper and lower level rocking Jo to get him to sleep in the Moby before I sat down. Little Lydia decided to join me so we were just hanging out. Along came Sox the Fox (the mascot) who prior to this incident Lydia had no fear of and was laughing and pointing and cheering him on for the beginning of the game. Well he started running her way and stopped to interact with some fans at the upper level and we were just watching him, he turned back towards her and started running towards her again. I thought this was going to be great she'd get to high five him or whatever... well, he didn't stop running and plowed her right over!!!!! I thought the whole time he was headed our way to see her but he didn't even see her through his big head mask and was actually headed out of the stands!!! He ruined her for any mascot!!! We went to a Focus on the Family event (see pictures below) and Sox the Fox was there as well as Dr. Whit from Adventures in Odyssey and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle guy and every time she spotted them she started crying and clung to me with the look of fear in her eyes!!! I feel so bad and wish I could've prevented this whole incident from happening! They sent over the EMTs to check her out (to cover their bases (no pun intended)) and she was fine but Adam even commented to them jokingly... get the girl some cotton candy or a free tshirt or something! And not to be greedy but we were really surprised that they didn't do anything to make up for Sox the Fox plowing her over!!!
Here's the aforementioned Ninja Turtle at Focus on the Family : )
Josh sure enjoyed him!
The littlest two sharing a stroller : )
At Focus on the Family they had a little used book sale and we found Adam and my claim to fame! This Focus on the Family book that our friend Maryn back in college connected us with the photographer for the book to be "models" for a part in the book... haha! We're famous!
Amelia and I were at a thrift store about a week after the Focus on the Family vent and saw the same book !!!
Daddy took Lydia and Josh to the valley for a high school graduation party and Amelia and Baby Jo and I stayed back for a wedding we were going to so we went and had a special night at Little Monkey Bizness... notice the painting ?
