Evangeline Kay Jardon!

For Evangeline's birth we decided to do another earlier induction simply based on the fact my kiddos do not like to come out on their own and I end up being induced a week late. For Benjamin we did an induction at 39 weeks since my gestational diabetes was getting harder to control and it was very nice to get done a week early and not keep going past my due date only to get induced anyways. We also had a challenge since she was due during tax season and my mom wasn't able to come out and be with us for the birth. Thankfully Meema Devi was available but only for a few days so we did some planning and picked a day. My Dr. asked for a night induction to which I kindly reminded her my inductions are about 8-9 hrs long which would put me delivering in the middle of the night... she said yup, I'll be there! So February 15th around 9 pm we headed in.
Last pic as a family of 7
We decided to allow Amelia to come and be there for the delivery. She has been asking since we found out we were pregnant and our Dr. agreed to have her there. She's pretty mature for her age and does not get grossed out about birth and even went so far after Joshua was born to watch his c/s video over and over again. It also helps that she doesn't require a lot of sleep (she stopped napping at 1 years old!) and often stays up until 11 at night on her own initiative! This would be helpful considering we were going in for a night induction.
Waiting to get called back

She made a sweet sweet note to give our Dr.

All checked in. The nurses were so nice to Amelia and asked if she wanted to help set up for the baby so she got to help get the warmer ready and everything.
Passing the time painting a picture for her new sibling
Around 1 in the morning Adam and Amelia started to fall asleep at their little spot on the couch. I did not have that luxury but new the time would be coming soon as my contractions were finally picking up and getting stronger. Shortly before 3 am the nurses came in and helped me turn positions a little and checked on me then told me to push that button if I felt like I needed to push. Literally no sooner than 30 seconds after the switch in positions I needed to push with that next contraction. My Dr. was right outside the nurses station so she came in with the team and I began trying to throw things at Adam and Amelia to alert them it was time ; ) They were sleeping good! No sooner than 7 pushes or so and she was out!

or the coffee is for... meeting the family! Big brother Joshua
Lydia
Joseph
I'm not sure in hinds sight why there's not a picture of Benjamin with Evangeline but my best guess is their age... they are the closest and Benjamin was only 1 year and 3 mos old when she was born and really wasn't too sure about her for awhile... he probably didn't want to touch her with a ten foot pole! Hopefully that'll change!
Sisters!
Another Great!
Meema Devi!
There's Benny... hanging out with GiGi from a distance ; )
