We started a tradition, or you could say carried on a tradition from Adam's family, of chopping down our own Christmas tree last year. The house we are living in has huge vaulted ceilings in the living room and our dinky little fake tree from Arizona just didn't cut it in there so we decided to take advantage of the ceilings and cut down a huge tree. Well, it worked so great last year we did it again this year!
Getting ready for the hunt... look at the beautiful mountains in the background
Waiting while the boys search for the perfect tree
We found it!
Thank you Uncle Joey for joining us on our trip... he was able to find one for his home too!
We underestimated how deep in we went as well as the need to carry the trees back up the hill and the fact we had 2 trees to bring up and 1 of them about 14 feet tall so... post-partum 3 weeks with Baby Beno in the moby wrap I had to enlist some child labor help to take some shifts and help the guys carry up one of the trees... but we made it and not a limb lost... for the people of course : )
Look at this cute little snowman
Now the really fun part... decorating! Adam's signature tree decorating style... white strand up the trunk. I think if we are going to continue this 14 ft tree tradition we may need a bigger star!
I snapped this picture with our new wall addition... thank you mom for the newborn/family pictures they turned out soooo good!
Everyone pitched in to help!
Even Uncle Joey came over later to help with the masterpiece
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree!
Josh's turn
Lydia helping put the hooky things on
And nothing beats a little snoozing under the Christmas Tree lights after all that hard work from me and Beno : )

A little rooftop Christmas light decorating... first year Adam trusted a kiddo to get on the roof... she did great!
And decorating their boy and girl trees with a little help from Benny
And Benny helping with the girls tree too!
And again, nothing like a good nap after all that hard work decorating!
