We had a really fun Fall semester of homeschool. We did a little combo of Amelia's curriculum and Joshua's curriculum which included some books that helped us "travel" around the world. We had fun learning about England, France and Japan among a few others.

We went after the book A Pair of Red Clogs which takes place in Japan to the Yakitori restaurant to eat a little Japanese food and experiment with chop sticks! The kids had so much fun!
A few days after that book we found these clogs at the thrift store... aside from being red they were wooden just like the Japanese girls in the book!
They taught the kiddos a little about pennies and the minting process as well as the difference pennies made from real copper or not so real copper... future numismatists : )

Making homemade apple pie after reading the book How to Make an Apple Pie and Travel the World !
There was a recipe in the back of the book that we used and the pie actually turned out to be delicious! We made homemade dough and everything!

This was at a gelato place. We went here after reading about Paris and all the gelato shops... we found out there is a gelato store here in town that kids get a free gelato scoop! They also have a cute little play area!
We made some homemade crepes!!! We wanted something Italian and I hadn't planned ahead but we had checked out a book that had a recipe for crepes and we had nutella, graham crackers and bananas... just like we remembered from Serbia. It was so good!
