Summer Kick Off

We don't have a park we can walk to from our house which is kind of a bummer but we do have this little walkway that is between the backs of houses with a creek that runs by it. There is a very wide walkway for the kiddos to ride their bikes and we are nowhere near a road... I actually think this is better than a park! One of the first warmer and not so windy days (Spring was so cold and windy!) we headed over there and the kiddos played in the freezing cold creek water!

Amelia had watched a Magic School Bus where Ms. Frizzle encouraged the class to "be brave, take chances and get messy!" Amelia kept coaching herself to walk out in the freezing cold and telling herself over and over "be brave, take chances, get messy!" It was so cute!
We always love to visit the museum!

We had some pretty funny stride pictures this time around... from left to right is Josh doing the crab walk, Amelia doing summersaults and Lydia rolling around!
 Popsicles!

We went to the Valley for their Summerfest on the Rio and to visit the Sand Dunes and visit with family... the last day we were packing up in the car when some young cowboys came riding along the main road on their horses! Everyone knows everyone down there so they stopped to say "hi" and let the kiddos have a ride!!!! They were in heaven!
I absolutely love this picture of Josh and Lydia... he looks like such a gentleman here!

Enjoying some nice weather outside on the swing!

Heading out to the golf course
We had one of those late Colorado evening rainstorms and the kiddos got to splash around in the puddles and admire the beautiful rainbow

And nothing says summer like a broken arm!!! Josh got a right buckle fracture playing a friendly game of ring around the rosey with his siblings! He fell off the picnic table 2 days after that so between the 2 of those incidents the fracture occurred and we made it to urgent care for a brace!

You can see the tiny little chip sticking out of the bone there
Adam was out of town but Uncle Gabe was staying with us so we put the kiddos to bed and made a late night visit which wore this little boy out!

Eating outside at the picnic table!

One morning after I worked and was sleeping Adam took all the kiddos to a little family fun run through his work... they all did great and had fun!

Playing at the park after the race!
Josh got to play a little indoor soccer at the very end of spring at the YMCA... he had a lot of fun!
