Family Camping Trip!

We went on a huge adventure! We wanted to go on a family camping trip with 4 kiddos! It was easy before when we lived in the valley and/or visited because we knew where to go and it wasn't too far from home base. Well now that we moved we wanted to find "our spot" but being in the city causes challenges to find a good spot. Somehow we landed on what was the busiest camping weekend of the summer. We are very picky about our camping requirements. We didn't want to pay, we wanted some significant distance between campsites, we want water, we want day hiking trails and we want Tanko to be able to roam free. Well we also wanted to try for a 2 night trip since there is so much packing involved in camping and we thought it would be worth the time to just stay 2 nights. So we did our research and headed out.... only to end up in utter failure the first night! The campsite we drove to was full and our engine overheated on the drive down and we ended up back at our house! We camped out in our bedroom! Bummer! Well the next morning we headed out to try again. We ended up finding a pretty great spot after hours of driving around. Our hope now is that we will know where to go and when to go to get a good spot and we will not have to experience such a stressful camping time!

We drove a few mins. back to the lake to sneak in some late night fishing!

We didn't catch a thing... there were tons of fish and they came right up to our worms, sniffed it and swam away!

Yes we pulled a trailer and had tons of room so we indeed brought our adirondack chairs!

And here we are after a wonderful night of sleep... haha! Let's just say we were camping and got as good a night of sleep as you can get! Isn't Jo cute in the corner again!
