Our Visit to the Springs

A couple weeks ago we went on a trip to Colorado Springs while Adam went back to Phoenix to help out with some golf stuff over there.

I planned the trip so we would drive during the kiddos afternoon naps... I had dreams of listening to whatever music I wanted to and having some peace and quiet driving through the mountains... oh but my little Millie girl had different plans! She stayed awake the ENTIRE 3 HOURS and proceeded to fall asleep prompty at 6:00 PM as I turned on my right blinker for our exit : ) That little stinker! And yes this is how she fell asleep... resting on a box of Cheez-Its : )

We went to the zoo with my old roomie Meg (who Millie likes to call "Egg" and her little boy Cael). It is such a beautiful (and hilly) zoo!

I thought she would freak out at this but she didn't... they had some sort of connection!

We stayed with our favorite family The Smiths : ) We made it to a park with the 4 Smith kiddos, here's Amelia coming down the slide with an audience awaiting her arrival!

And dear Silas making sure she made it down alright (good quality for a future spouse!)

And the view from the park... the mountains will always take my breath away... it's refreshing after seeing brown flatland with cactuses (cacti?)
