Our New Patio

For our Christmas present this year from my mom and dad we asked for a little help so we could put a little patio for eating in our tiny side yard : ) Here are pictures from our Christmas project!
Here is a complete before picture of the side yard (note how tiny all the bushes are on the sides when compared to the last picture at the bottom of this post)
The pile of supplies to complete the project
Adam dug out all the grass and here is the blank slate for the patio area
After many hours of pouring sand and meticulously leveling, the ground is prepared for the bricks!
Testing the bricks and the borders
The one week this year it decided to rain in Arizona was during the middle of our project so I was recruited to speed things along! (notice in this picture how HUGE our bushes are!)
And Millie couldn't hold out any longer and was recruited to sweep : )
Daddy and Millie sweeping together ... a family project!
Bum ba bum bah! The finished project! This was Christmas Eve and Adam lit up the place with the lights on our Bouganvilleas : )
Our patio serves as a multi-purpose place as we also got this little firepit to roast s'mores with! Just like in Colorado!
And we set a new Arizona tradition of eating Christmas dinner outside on our new patio... this was everyone's first time eating outside on Christmas day!
Thank you mom and dad for making this project possible! And thank you hubby for all your hard work!

  1. Nice work guys. That looks awesome! I've been thinking about doing something similiar in our backyard. I might need to call for some tips from the pros!
